Join momcafe Langley/Surrey/White Rock and the Lunagals, founders of Lunapads,  Madeleine and Suzanne at Mizuna Culinary in Langley.  Enjoy freshly roasted coffee, homemade baking, fresh fruit, great conversation and a one of a kind networking experience.  Vendor tables onsite showcasing some great local businesses.

Over the past decade Madeleine Shaw and Suzanne Siemens have been building one of Vancouver’s most unique businesses, Lunapads. While marketing reusable alternatives to traditional feminine hygiene products has had its challenges, these trailblazing women have translated social media savvy into ecommerce success with over 100,000 devoted customers in 40 countries.

Madeleine Shaw started her career as a social leader as a student at Queen’s University, where she received the institution’s highest non-academic distinction for her volunteer work as a feminist activist. She started her first business venture in 1993, and wrote the first business plan for Lunapads and Lunapanties in 1994. In addition to her work in product development, marketing and strategic planning at Lunapads, Madeleine is active as a volunteer mentor with the BC Forum for Women Entrepreneurs and the Women’s Enterprise Society of BC.

Suzanne Siemens is a professional Chartered Accountant with 20 years of experience in financial accounting, management and business strategy. Prior to joining forces with Madeleine in 2000, she held senior financial roles at a large publicly traded energy company and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. In addition to her role as CFO at Lunapads, Suzanne has served for many years as Board Member and Treasurer with the Georgia Strait Alliance, a local marine conservation not-for-profit organization. In 2008 Suzanne received the Community Service Award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC.
